The Aquarion: Myth of Emotions anime has gotten a main trailer ahead of its newly revealed January 9 (effectively January 10 at 12:30 AM JST).

The trailer includes a preview of the opening song “Sousei no Aquarion Myth of Emotions Ver.” by AKINO from bless4 and Yoshiki Fukuyama. AKINO is also performing the ending song “Kokuhaku.”

Additionally, the cast roster has expanded to include Hiroki Nanami, Kiyono Yasuno, and Yumi Yuzu as San, Kyoko Munakata, and Kazuhiko Saruta, respectively.

Aquarion: Myth of Emotions is set in Enoshima and sees the students Sakko, Rimiya, and Toshi piloting the Vector Machine, which is powered by the power of their emotions, to battle the invading Kamiwajuu. As the expectations of a mysterious organization and adults intersect, the three of them, as well as the girls Amaha and Sayo, find themselves coming face-to-face with the truth of the universe.

The original Aquarion anime, Genesis of Aquarion (or simply Aquarion), aired in 2005 with 26 episodes. It was later followed by 2012’s Aquarion Evol and 2015’s Aquarion Logos. All of the shows were produced by SatelightEight Bit co-produced Aquarion Evol while C2C co-produced Aquarion Logos.

Crunchyroll describes the first Aquarion as:

Humanity is dominated by fear when the Shadow Angels invade after 12,000 years of slumber. There is hope, however—Mechanical Angel Aquarion, a fighting machine powered by the intertwined souls of pilots known as Elements. With prophecy being fulfilled, and the end of the world approaching, the last hope for the new century takes flight. For mankind to survive, one among the Elements must rise.

There has also been a movie (2007’s Aquarion: The Movie) and an OVA (2015’s Sousei no Aquarion Evol).
