A fourth new character visual and PV trailer have been released for the upcoming mono TV anime series, highlighting the manga artist Haruno Akiyama. The anime is scheduled to broadcast in Japan sometime in 2025.
The trailer confirms the addition of Reina Ueda to the cast as Haruno. She joins a main voice cast that stars Haruna Mikawa as Satsuki Amamiya, Aoi Koga as An Kiriyama, and Hikaru Tono as Sakurako Shikishima.
Ryota Aikei (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Takuya Miyahara (Frederica opening movie, Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie co-main animator) as character designer, and Yoko Yonaiyama (A Sign of Affection) as series screenwriter. Soigne is handling the animation production.
The original 4-koma manga series is written and illustrated by Laid-Back Camp creator Afro, which was first serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Miracle! magazine on May 16, 2017, before moving to Manga Time Kirara Carat on December 28, 2017. Four tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2024.
Yen Press licensed the mono manga series for release in English, with the first volume being released in November 2024. It describes the main synopsis as:
The Photography Club is in danger of shutting down?! And the Cinema Club too?! Fret not, for they shall merge and become…Cinephoto Club! Now, club members Satsuki, An, and Sakurako are asked to be the main characters for manga artist Haruno’s latest work that’s centered around action cameras. The girls head out to capture the lovely sights of Japan, exploring gadgets around them, and of course, chomp on the local delicacies along the way!
