My Hero Academia Final Season will begin airing in the Fall 2025 anime season.

The season was announced after the end of Season 7 on October 12 JST. The first My Hero Academia season premiered in 2016, while Season 7 started in May 2024.

My Hero Academia is based on the Weekly Shonen Jump manga by Kohei Horikoshi, which began in 2014 and ended on August 5, 2024 JST. Viz Media describes the My Hero Academia manga as:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…

In addition to the TV series, there are four anime movies, the latest being 2024’s My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next
