During Jump Festa ‘25, it was announced that the upcoming second season of Mission: Yozakura Family will debut sometime in 2026. A new “super” teaser visual was also released, featuring the main members of the Yozakura family.
Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, Sasaki and Peeps) directed the anime series and wrote the screenplay, with Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Koji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers. SILVER LINK was in charge of the animation production for the first season.

The first season of Mission: Yozakura Family aired in Japan for two cours containing 27 episodes from April 7, 2024 to October 6, 2024.
The anime series is based on the action comedy manga series by Hitsuji Gondaira, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump starting on August 26, 2019. Twenty-seven tankobon volumes have been released as of December 2024, with a 28th volume set for release on February 4, 2025.
The series is streaming as a Hulu Original title in the United States, while Disney+ is streaming the series in other select territories outside Japan. The series also streams on Prime Video and Netflix in Japan.
VIZ Media releases the Mission: Yozakura Family manga series in English, and describes the synopsis of the first volume as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers.
