After the broadcast of its first season finale, a second season of Puniru is a Kawaii Slime has been confirmed to be in production. A special announcement visual featuring the titular character and 17-second video were also released.

The 12-episode anime aired in Japan on October 6, 2024 and concluded on December 23, 2024.
Yushi Ibe (Tearmoon Empire) directed the anime, with Michiko Yokote (The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist) as series screenwriter, Aya Tanaka (Mushoku Tensei Season 2 sub-character designer) as character designer, and Izumi Mori (Himitsu no AiPri) as music composer. TOHO animation STUDIO handled the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga series by Maeda-kun. It began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Corocoro Comic online service on March 15, 2022 and has released six tankobon volumes as of September 2024. The manga originally started as a one-shot in Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic magazine on February 28, 2019.

Crunchyroll licensed the Puniru is a Kawaii Slime anime for streaming worldwide, describing the main synopsis of season one as:
Seven years ago, Kotaro made a slime that unexpectedly came to life. He named her Puniru, and they’ve been best friends ever since. The two have grown up a lot over the years, and Puniru is now a beautiful, carefree girl who can shapeshift into other cute forms.
