Anime hairstyles are taken to another pointy level for Bandai Spirits’ latest crane game prize — a ballpoint pen of Hunter x Hunter’s Gon Freecss with really long hair. The prize will be available to win through the Banpresto Crane Game system starting June 2025.
The ballpoint pen measures 60 centimeters in length and features Gon’s extremely long hair that he attains when he stores enough power. Fans can enjoy displaying it as a figure or using it to write an angry letter to someone.
The product was exhibited at the Bandai Spirits booth during this year’s Jump Festa ‘25 event.
Hunter x Hunter was first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on March 3, 1998 by Yu Yu Hakusho‘s Yoshihiro Togashi. A total of 38 tankobon volumes have been released as of September 2024. New chapters of the manga have been released sporadically since October 2022 due to Togashi’s long-term health issues.
The manga has also inspired a 1998 anime pilot, a 1999 TV anime series, a 2011 TV anime remake, and two anime films.
