The 12th episode of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 won’t be airing this year.

The anime’s production committee has issued a statement saying that Episode 12, which was supposed to have its TV broadcast premiere on December 27 JST, has been delayed due to production reasons. The new release date will be revealed at a later time.

TOKYO MX, BS11, and AT-X will air the “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Goddess of Fertility ArcCast Shuugou Toshiwasure Daibounenkai” program in place of the 12th episode. It gathers Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Inori Minase, Haruka Chisuga, Yoko Hikasa, MC Ryudo Nakakura, and narrator Shizuka Ishigami.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 previously delayed the premiere of its ninth episode from November 29 JST to December 5 JST, citing production-related reasons.

DanMachi Season 5 premiered on October 4 JST (effectively October 5 at 12:30 AM JST). The season’s synopsis reads:

Goddess Festival—A fruit festival that brings the labyrinth city of Orario to life. Goddesses symbolizing fertility are enshrined on the altar, and among them is the Goddess of Beauty. Bell Cranel, who has survived and returned to his daily life from the dead depths of the dungeon, is here and ready to enjoy the bustle of the Goddess Festival until he receives a letter from a girl at a small bar in a corner of Orario—”To Mr. Bell, please go on a date with just the two of us at the upcoming Goddess Festival. From Syr.” Syr’s single-minded determination will drive both Bell and the labyrinth city crazy. Meanwhile, the Einherjar, the warriors who claim to be the “strongest,” are now suddenly on the move…

The first season of the J.C.STAFF-produced anime premiered in 2015. Season 4 aired from late 2022 to early 2023. The series is based on the GA Bunko light novel series written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yamada, which began in January 2013 and released its 20th volume on December 15, 2024 JST. Yen Press describes the first volume of the books as:

In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans. He wants to pick up girls. Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not. After one misguided adventure, Bell quickly discovers that anything can happen in the labyrinth–even chance encounters with beautiful women. The only problem? He’s the one who winds up the damsel in distress!

Aside from the main light novel series, which is starting its final arc with Volume 21, there are also Danmachi light novel spin-offs, manga, mobile games, and an anime movie. One of the spin-offs, Sword Oratoria, inspired a 2017 TV anime.
