With 2024 marking the 20th anniversary of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise, a big announcement or two wouldn’t have been entirely surprising. Now, with only a few days left in the year, it has been revealed that a brand new Nanoha TV anime titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance will be made.
Additionally, there will be a new manga titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS, which is written by Nanoha co-creator Masaki Tsuzuki (DOG DAYS manga author) and drawn by Shuichi Kawakami (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha INNOCENTS). While Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance only has a logo preview at the moment, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS also has a key visual and a 2025 start date. The manga will be serialized in Kodansha’s Wednesday Sirius.
The first Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha TV anime, which was directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, aired from October to December 2004. It has since expanded into a multimedia franchise, with the last anime entry being the 2018 movie Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation.
