A stop-motion My Melody and Kuromi animated series produced by WIT STUDIO (or more specifically, TORUKU from WIT STUDIO) is coming to Netflix this July.

The series is titled My Melody & Kuromi and is directed by Pui Pui Molcar‘s Tomoki Misato, with Shuko Nemoto writing the scripts. A very brief peek at the Sanrio characters, who are celebrating their 50th (My Melody) and 20th (Kuromi) anniversaries, was released.

Misato previously directed the WIT STUDIO-produced “stop motion anime PV” Candy Caries, which was released in early 2021. The release of that PV was accompanied by the announcement that a “stop motion studio” had been launched.

Animate Times reported that WIT STUDIO’s stop motion line began in December 2020.
