Cyberagent has announced the establishment of anime studio CA Soa, with which it aims to create “high-quality” Japanese-made animation for a global market.
CA Soa’s president is Masakazu Ogawa, previously a producer at Sunrise and Sunrise Beyond. Ogawa’s credits include Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and its Seed Destiny sequel (as production desk), Mobile Suit Gundam AGE (as a producer), AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline (as an executive producer), and Gundam Build Metaverse (also as an executive producer).
Cyberagent says that it wants to establish a new anime production method through the intersection of its existing technological capabilities and Ogawa’s appointment. It added that it aimed to further develop the anime industry and will continue to attempt to contribute to its expansion.
in 2017, Cyberagent and its consolidated subsidiary Cygames (of which animation studio Cygames Pictures is a subsidiary of) jointly set up the CA-Cygames Anime Fund, which served to inject funds into anime IPs. The fund is listed in the credits of shows like Hinomaru Sumo, Somali and the Forest Spirit, and The Promised Neverland.
