GKIDS Screens Witch Watch TV Anime on March 16, Will Also Stream on Crunchyroll & Netflix featured image

GKIDS has announced that it will screen the first three episodes of the Witch Watch TV anime series early in North American theaters on March 16, 2025. The company also released a new English-subtitled trailer for the series, which will screen under the title WITCH WATCH: WATCH PARTY with exclusive feature interviews.

In addition to North America, GKIDS will screen the first three episodes of Witch Watch in Europe and Asia. ADN and Aniplus will also host screenings as well. 

Crunchyroll and Netflix also revealed that they will stream the anime when it debuts in Japan in April 2025. The series will run for two consecutive cours

Crunchyroll will stream the anime outside of Japan in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

Ikehata Hiroshi (i☆Ris the Movie – Full Energy!!, Dark Gathering, Akiba’s Trip The Animation) is directing the anime series, with Masao Kawase (Kiratto Pri Chan and Magical Destroyers, i☆Ris the Movie – Full Energy!! co-unit director) as assistant director, Deko Akao (VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream, Unnamed Memory) as series screenwriter, Haruko Iizuka (The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies, Josee, the Tiger and the Fish) as character designer, and Kaishu Sugimura (A Condition Called Love opening animation animation director) and Yuki Sawa (Magical Destroyers character designer) as sub-character designers. Bibury Animation Studio is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

  • • Konami Kohara as Kukumi Ureshino
  • • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tenryu Kiyomiya

Kenta Shinohara‘s Witch Watch manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on February 8, 2021 and has released 20 volumes as of January 2025.

Viz Media releases the manga in English digitally, describing the main synopsis as:

Morihito Otogi’s family is descended from a long line of ogre familiars, and he has the inhuman strength to prove it. One day, his father comes to him with the life-changing news that he is to become the familiar of his childhood friend, the teenage witch Nico. He is to live under the same roof with her and protect her from anything and anyone that may attempt to harm her. Meanwhile, Nico is excited to get to live with the love of her life, even if her crush is one-sided — Morihito is so serious about his duties to protect her that any romance is going to be an uphill battle. But he has every reason to be serious, as Nico has a prophecy of doom hanging over her head!
