My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Adds 5 Returning Cast Members from Original Series featured image

The official website for the upcoming My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime series announced this week that five returning cast members from the original My Hero Academia anime are joining the show’s cast. The anime will premiere in Japan on April 7, 2025. 

The new additions were also confirmed in the release of five new character visuals.

The returning voice cast members include:

  • • Kenta Miyake as Toshinori Yagi/All Might
  • • Junichi Suwabe as Shota Aizawa/Eraser Head
  • • Hiroyuki Yoshino as Hizashi Yamada/Present Mic
  • • Akeno Watanabe as Nemuri Kayama/Midnight
  • • Masamichi Kitada as Tensei Iida/Ingenium

They join the main voice cast for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes that stars Shuichiro Umeda as Koichi Haimawari/The Crawler, Ikumi Hasegawa as Pop Step, and Yasuhiro Mamiya as Knuckle Duster. 

Kenichi Suzuki (Fairy Gone, Cells At Work!, Drifters) is directing the anime series, with Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia) as series screenwriter, Takahiko Yoshida (Cells At Work!, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen [2020]) as character designer, Haruko Nobori (From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated!) as color designer, Yukihiro Watanabe (Fuuto PI) as background art director, Eiei Cho (T・P BON) as compositing director. BONES FILM is in charge of the animation production. 

The anime is based on the superhero manga series written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. The manga is a spinoff prequel to Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia series, taking place five years before the main story. It first debuted in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine on August 20, 2016 and moved to Shonen Jump+ in October 2016. The series concluded on May 28, 2022 and released 15 total tankobon volumes.

VIZ Media releases the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga in English, and describes the main synopsis as:

Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage — or foolishness — to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…
