A new teaser visual and premiere dates have been revealed for the Girls Band Cry two-part theatrical compilation film. The anime series aired in Japan for 13 total episodes from April 6, 2024 to June 29, 2024.
The film’s first part, Seishun Kyosokyoku, is expected to begin screening in Japanese theaters on October 3, 2025. The second part, Na, Mirai., will screen on November 14, 2025.

Kazuo Sakai (Love Live! Sunshine!!) directed Girls Band Cry, with Nari Teshima (VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei‘s character designer) as character designer, Jaehoon Jung as CG director, and Jukki Hanada (The Dangers in My Heart, Love Live! Superstar!!) as series screenwriter. Toei Animation handled the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast for the anime’s Togenashi Togeari band includes:
- • Rina as vocalist Nina Iseri
- • Yuri as guitarist Momoka Kawaragi
- • Mirei as drummer Subaru Awa
- • Natsu as keyboardist Tomo Ebizuka
- • Shuuri as bassist Rupa
Cast members Mirei and Natsu announced last July that they were going on hiatus due to poor health reasons. The remaining three main cast members — Rina, Yuri, and Syuri — have continued to perform.
CATCHPLAY+ streamed the anime in Indonesia with both Indonesian and English subtitles. The anime was also released digitally on Fandango at Home, Microsoft Store, Amazon Prime Video, and Hoopla.

Crunchyroll licensed Girls Band Cry last October, and describes the main synopsis as:
Feeling out of place in the countryside, high school dropout Nina Iseri moves to Tokyo. After a rough first day and getting locked out of her apartment, she meets her favorite guitarist, Momoka Kawaragi. The two put on a street performance together and decide to start a band with three other girls. While each girl faces her own struggles, their passion for music keeps their dreams alive.
