The official website for the ongoing Dr. Stone: Science Future TV anime announced that three new cast members and characters are joining the series. The fourth and final season of Dr. Stone premiered in Japan on January 9, 2025 and is expected to last for three split cours. The first cour will run for 12 total episodes.
The three new cast and characters will appear in the anime’s sixth episode, “Science Is Elegant.” They include Akira Sekine as Luna, Chiharu Sawashiro as Carlos, and Taishi Murata as Max.
They join a main voice cast that stars:

Shuhei Matsushita (Dr. Stone Ryusei and Dr. Stone New World) is directing season four, with Kurasumi Sunayama (The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, in Fact, the Strongest) as series screenwriter and Yuko Iwasa (returning) as character designer. TMS Entertainment is in charge of the animation production.
The first season of the Dr. Stone anime series began airing in 2019. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, started its first cour in April 2023 and the second cour in October 2023. Crunchyroll, bilibili, and iQIYI streamed New World overseas.
The anime series is based on the adventure science fiction manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022 and has released 26 tankobon volumes, with a 27th volume set for release on April 4, 2025. VIZ Media releases the manga series in English.
