The Encore Films Malaysia Facebook page has revealed that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will begin screening in Malaysian theaters on February 27 GMT+8.
The arrival of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, an early preview of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime series, in Malaysia was previously teased on social media last December.
Encore Films’ social media pages for Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam also made posts about the show at that time. According to a currently unlisted Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- trailer on the main Encore Films YouTube channel, its Singaporean premiere date is also February 27 GMT+8.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- premiered in Japan on January 17 JST and will start screening in North America on February 28. The premise of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX reads:
Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.
When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.
Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.
Now their world is about to enter a new era.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest TV anime in the Gundam franchise, which started with 1979’s Mobile Suit Gundam. The previous Gundam TV anime was 2022 to 2023’s Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, which introduced the Ad Stella timeline and was the first to have a female protagonist.
