A second season of Bocchi the Rock! has been announced with a visual of its titular character and a video. Its main staff was also revealed, and there are some changes from Season 1.
Season 1 assistant director Yusuke Yamamoto (Bocchi the Rock! Episode 3 and 11 storyboard artist and director, OSHI NO KO opening director) is taking over the main director’s seat from Keiichiro Saito (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) for Season 2. Another change is the addition of animator Keito Oda as co-character designer with the previous season’s Kerorira (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale – Chapter 1 visual director).
Erika Yoshida (Tower of God series composer) is still on board as scriptwriter on the CloverWorks production.

Bocchi the Rock! aired during the Fall 2022 anime season and received two compilation movies, Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 (Bocchi the Rock! Re🙂 and Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 2 (Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:), in 2024. It is based on the Houbunsha-published 4-koma manga by Aki Hamazi, which is serialized in Manga Time Kirara and has seven volumes as of October 2024. The story follows the highly anxious but skilled guitarist Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh, whose life starts to change when she is invited to join a band led by the bright and cheery Nijika Ijichi.
