The previously announced third season of MF Ghost is scheduled to return to broadcast in Japan in 2026. The 12-episode second season recently aired from October 7, 2024 to December 24, 2024.
The final chapter of the MF Ghost manga will also be published on February 17, 2025 in the 12th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine. A special video commemorating the manga’s finale was released, along with a special illustration by Naoyuki Onda — the anime’s character designer and chief animation director.

Many of the first season staff returned to work on the second season. They include Tomohito Naka (New Initial D the Movie Legend 3: Dream, New Initial D the Movie Legend 2: Racer) as director, Kenichi Yamashita (Hensuki: Are You Willing to Fall in Love with a Pervert, as Long as She’s a Cutie?) as series screenwriter, Naoyuki Onda (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, Inuyashiki) as character designer and co-chief animation director, and Akio Tobashi (New Initial D the Movie Legend trilogy) as music composer. Felix Film is handling the animation production for the series, with directrain co-producing the CG animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

The first season of MF Ghost aired during the Fall 2023 season from October 2, 2023 until December 18, 2023. Both seasons streamed on Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia ULTRA outside of Japan.
The anime is based on the Initial D sequel manga series by Shuichi Shigeno, which was first serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine on September 4, 2017. Twenty-two tankobon volumes have been released as of February 2025. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English digitally via retailers and the K MANGA platform.
The first season aired during the Fall 2023 anime season. Both are streamed on Crunchyroll and Ani-One Asia ULTRA.
