Animator Manami Honda, who uses the online handle Honda3, recently released their graduation project, Yell for You. It takes the form of an anime opening, with character designs that evoke the feel of a cute slice-of-life comedy adaptation (though there are dramatic elements in the video too).

In addition to the noteworthy drawings and animation, Yell for You also displays Honda’s color sense and compositing. There are a variety of aesthetic styles featured in the video as well, including pixel art game-inspired shots, letterboxing, and a raw black-and-white sketch-like sequence with video artifacts.

Honda has had experience with professional anime productions, having participated as key animator and/or second key animator in shows like The Elusive Samurai, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Chainsaw Man, takt.Op Destiny, and Soaring Sky! Precure, as well as Bocchi the Rock!‘s opening.

In the credits for Yell for You, they list CLIPSTUDIO, After Effects, and ibisPaint as the tools they used for the project. The song used is the vocaloid GUMI‘s “Zettai Zetsumei.”
