GKIDS announced this week that it has acquired worldwide (excluding China) videogram and digital transactional rights to the second season of Riot Games’ Arcane animated series.

GKIDS, alongside other international partners, will release a full product array for the series, including a 4K version exclusive to the home entertainment release, in 2025. Further details will be announced in the future. The company acquired the home video and digital rights of the first season last June.

GKIDS previously released the first season of Arcane in a sold-out limited run collector’s edition disc, as well as on 4K UHD SteelBook, Blu-ray SteelBook, standard Blu-ray, and digital download-to-own.

The second season was streamed on Netflix in three acts throughout November 2024, starting on November 9, November 16, and November 23. Nine total episodes were released. The first season also contained nine episodes and was released across three parts in 2021 on November 6, November 13, and November 20.

The animated series is part of the overall League of Legends universe. Fortiche Productions is handling the animation production for the series, with Riot Games credited as creative supervisors. Season two was originally scheduled to release in 2023, but was delayed.
