Shinichi Fukuda‘s cosplay-themed romantic comedy manga My Dress-Up Darling is ending with its next chapter, which will be out in next month’s seventh 2025 issue of Young Gangan.

As per Anime News Network, the announcement was made in the fifth 2025 issue of the Square Enix magazine, which was released on February 21 JST. Issue 7 will be out on March 21 JST.

My Dress-Up Darling introduced aspiring hina doll maker Wakana Gojou and bubbly gal otaku Marin Kitagawa in January 2018 and has been collected into 14 tankoubon volumes as of November 2024. Square Enix describes the manga as:

Traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who took exception to his love of traditional dolls, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojou passes his days as a loner, finding solace in the home ec room at his high school. To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl who’s always surrounded by a throng of friends, is practically an alien from another world. But when cheerful Marin–never one to be shy–spots Wakana sewing away one day after school, she barges in with the aim of roping her quiet classmate into her secret hobby: cosplay! Will Wakana’s wounded heart be able to handle the invasion from this sexy alien?!

A TV anime directed by Keisuke Shinohara (Black Fox) at CloverWorks aired during the Winter 2022 anime season. The second season is coming this year.

A live-action drama began airing in October 2024.

My Dress-Up Darling has also inspired a “parallel spin-off comedy” manga titled Kisekae Ningyo de chu, which is drawn by Choboraunyopomi.
