Bandai Namco Holdings has announced that the Gundam: Next Universal Century CG film will be screened and presented at the Gundam Next Future Pavilion during the Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

Takanori Tsujimoto (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle-) is directing the CG film, with Studio Nue’s Shigeru Morita (The Island of Giant Insects, Vividred Operation) as scriptwriter. Tomoaki Okada (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury seasons 1-2) is in charge of the art setting, Nagisa Abe (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga) is the color designer, Yusuke Kumano (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin CG designer) is the CG director, and Keito Morita (Suzume) is the CG modeling director.
Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, My Happy Marriage) is credited as the film’s music composer and worked on its main ending theme “Dream Beyond Forever” featuring Uyanga Bold.
SUNRISE is in charge of the planning and animation production for the film, with Hajime Yatate and Mobile Suit Gundam franchise creator Yoshiyuki Tomino credited with the film’s original story.

Bandai Namco describes the Gundam: Next Universal Century film as:
A.D.2150. Visiting Yumeshima, you join an observation tour of the giant space station Star Jaburo. With Haro as your guide, you board an orbital elevator and begin a journey to an altitude of 36,000 km. At Star Jaburo, circling the Earth in geostationary orbit, various mobile suits are working to continue the advance into space. Then a sudden incident occurs, as something strange happens to the space debris they are trying to remove…
The Gundam Next Future Pavilion will project the new film on large screens powered by Sony’s Haptics technology, creating an immersive, 360 degree experience for visitors with HD graphics from Unreal Engine 5. The theme songs “New Universal Century” and “The Future Co-existing with Mobile Suits” will also be played throughout the experience.
A flashing life-sized Gundam statue will also be exhibited outside the venue.




Additionally, a limited-time merchandise store called “THE GUNDAM BASE POP-UP WORLD TOUR” will open in Osaka on April 11, 2025 at the Daimaru Umeda store in Osaka. It will run until October 13, 2025. A variety of Gundam products, including figures, cards, plastic models, and miscellaneous goods, will be available for purchase.
Entry into the Gundam Next Future Pavilion requires an application into a lottery system in order to purchase tickets and reserve a spot. More information about tickets can be found here.
The 2025 World Expo is scheduled to take place in Osaka, Japan from April 13, 2025 to October 13, 2025 on Yumeshima island in Osaka Bay. It will be the second time Osaka has hosted a World Expo after Expo ’70 in 1970.
