A second new key visual and trailer have been revealed for the upcoming Me and the Alien MuMu TV anime series, which also confirmed the main production staff involved, additional voice cast members, and main theme songs. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 9, 2025.
The second trailer showcases the adorable alien MuMu with the main heroine, Sakurako, as well as the characters Siberia and Junichiro Anamori. It also highlights the main opening theme “Fushigi na Kimi” by 3-piece female rock band SABASISTER and the ending theme “Sayonara Jinrui” by the show’s main characters Sakurako and MuMu.
Tomoya Takahashi (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie) is directing the anime series, with Keiichiro Ochi (The Quintessential Quintuplets, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as series screenwriter, Kenji Ota (Pon no Michi, Lance N’ Masques) as character designer, and Kuricorder Quartet (Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill) as music composer. OLM is in charge of the animation production.
The newly revealed cast members include:

They join previously announced main cast members that include Etsuko Kozakura as MuMu and Momo Harumi as Sakurako Umeyashiki.
Hiroki Miyashita’s manga was first serialized in Shonengahosha’s Young King Ours magazine on June 28, 2019. Seven tankobon volumes have been released as of May 2024.
Pony Canyon describes the main synopsis of Me and the Alien MuMu as:
A cat-like alien from a distant galaxy, MuMu, arrives on Earth. His goal is to learn about home appliance technology on Earth to recover the technology his species has lost. The protagonist, Sakurako, has a typical university life, but everything changes with MuMu’s arrival! What begins as an unexpected cohabitation quickly turns into a whirlwind of chaotic events. The chemistry between Sakurako and MuMu leads to a super-spectacular, appliance-filled, and cat comedy adventure.
