Gag Manga Biyori GO Reveals Trailer and Streaming Plans featured image

A trailer has been released for the Gag Manga Biyori GO short anime. It was also announced that the show will be streamed on the It’s Anime YouTube channel and Amazon Prime Video outside of Japan and some territories starting on April 5.

Additionally, Gag Manga Biyori GO will have its world premiere at Hawaii’s Kawaii Con, which runs from March 14 to 16. The screening will be held on March 14 from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM HST.

Gag Manga Biyori GO is based on Kosuke Masuda‘s Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Biyori manga. The anime is described as:

A wide variety of characters, including Shotoku Taishi, Matsuo Basho and Usami-chan, will draw the audience into a unique world through the surreal gags created by Kosuke Masuda.

Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Biyori debuted in 1999 in Shueisha’s Monthly Shonen Jump. Masuda Kousuke Gekijou Gag Manga Biyori GB, a “renewal” that was meant to commemorate original’s 15th anniversary, started in 2015 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of August 2024.

Past anime include an OVA and multiple anime seasons, with the last anime season premiering in 2010. The manga has also inspired a stage play.
