Crunchyroll Announces North American & International Theatrical Release Dates for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle featured image

Crunchyroll has announced the North American and international theatrical dates for the upcoming first film in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy. The film is expected to begin screening in Japan on July 18, 2025. 

The first film will premiere exclusively in U.S. and Canadian theatres on September 12, 2025, including in IMAX and other premium large formats, and will also be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are distributing the film worldwide, excluding Japan and select Asian territories.

A new official English key visual and release date trailer were also released.

Meanwhile, the international release dates for the film are listed below (with additional dates announced later):

Before the new film premieres in Japan, Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train and compilations of the previous arcs will be screened in order starting on April 4, 2025. Each of the 11 compilations, as well as the film, will be available for one week only, with the second Hashira Training Arc compilation to begin screening on June 27, 2025. 

Aside from the first season and the 2020 Mugen Train anime film, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime includes the 2019 first season, and the TV broadcast versions of Mugen Train, Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc.

The returning staff working on the first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film include Haruo Sotozaki as director, Akira Matsushima as character designer and chief animation director, Yuko Omae as color designer, Masaru Yanaka (reprising from Mugen Train and Hashira Training Arc) and Yuri Kabazawa (reprising from Mugen Train and Hashira Training Arc) as background art directors, Koji Eto (since Hashira Training Arc) as background art supervisor, and Yuichi Terao as compositing director. Ufotable is in charge of the animation production and script production.

Meanwhile, the main voice cast reprising their roles for the film include: 

  • • Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro Kamado
  • • Akari Kito as Nezuko Kamado
  • • Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma
  • • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle film trilogy will conclude the anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge‘s manga series, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 15, 2016 and ended on May 18, 2020. A total of 23 tankobon volumes were released in total. VIZ Media releases the manga in English. 

Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis of the Infinity Castle films as: 

While growing stronger and deepening his friendships and bonds with fellow corps members, Tanjiro has battled many demons with his comrades – Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira. Along the way, his journey has led him to fight alongside the Demon Slayer Corps’ highest-ranking swordsmen, the Hashira, including Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku aboard the Mugen Train, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui within the Entertainment District, as well as Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji at the Swordsmith Village.

As the Demon Slayer Corps members and Hashira engaged in a group strength training program, the Hashira Training, in preparation for the forthcoming battle against the demons, Muzan Kibutsuji appears at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. With the head of the Demon Corps in danger, Tanjiro and the Hashira rush to the headquarters but are plunged into a deep descent to a mysterious space by the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.

The destination of where Tanjiro and Demon Slayer Corps have fallen is the demons’ stronghold – the Infinity Castle. And so, the battleground is set as the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons ignites.
