Murasaki Shion, a VTuber part of hololive’s second generation, is set to graduate from her VTubing activities from the agency on April 26 this year.
In an official statement from the agency, they have stated that they understand that the news may be difficult for fans to process, and that they acknowledge the warm support and kindness they have shown to Shiori throughout her VTubing journey.
“As a second-generation member, Murasaki Shion has been an integral part of hololive for nearly seven years, playing a significant role in the growth and success of hololive production since its early days,” the agency stated.
It is worth noting that the announcement comes two days ahead of the highly-anticipated hololive 6th fes. Color Rise Harmony event, which will be held on March 8 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall.
In a separate post on X (Twitter) by the talent, she stated that she looks forward to making more memories with her fellow talents and fans before her graduation day.
Meanwhile, hololive CEO Motoaki ‘YAGOO’ Tanigo posted on X (Twitter), addressing concerns of multiple graduations fans have to witness in the past few months. It is worth noting that Shiori is the latest graduation from hololive following Ceres Fauna and Minato Aqua; as well as Amelia Watson and Sakamata Chloe ceasing their channel activities in favor of being an affiliate of the agency.
In the post, YAGOO stated that they have established an internal system which will provide support for talents in other activities outside of streaming such as participation in live-events, branded tie-ups, as well as in music production. However, he acknowledges that some parts of the system have yet to be implemented, and that they will be working with talking to talents directly to address these concerns.
Murasaki Shion joined hololive alongside Nakiri Ayame, Yuzuki Choco, Oozora Subaru, and now-alum talent Minato Aqua on August 2018. As of this writing, she has more than 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube and over 1.1 million followers on X (Twitter).
