The Shiunji Family Children anime has received a second trailer. It sets up the general premise of the romantic comedy and previews a little of the aftermath of the eponymous “siblings” learning that they are not actually blood-related.
“I mean, if we’re not related, then we can date, or even become lovers, right? So that means… everyone’s a rival!” someone spouts towards the end of the trailer.
An April 8 JST premiere date and key visual were also revealed for The Shiunji Family Children. Plus, it was announced that NACHERRY‘s “Honey Lemon” is the opening theme song, and that Masaki Terasoma is the voice of the Shiunjis’ father Kaname.
The Shiunji Family Children is based on the Hakusensha-published manga by Rent-A-Girlfriend‘s Reiji Miyajima, with Reiji Yukino as co-artist. Yen Press describes the manga as:
The love between brother and sister. The love between man and woman. That which is most forbidden is most unyielding. The two sons and five daughters of the Shiunji family shine like brilliant gems, each with intelligence and beauty in equal measure. And with the pedigree of their wealthy father behind them, how could they not be the talk of the town? Eldest son Arata has spent his life being tossed around by the whims of his colorful sisters, yet a little teasing won’t stop him from valuing his family over anything and anyone else. But when his youngest sister turns fifteen, their father reveals a long-hidden secret of the Shiunji “siblings” and knocks Arata’s world off its axis…
The manga started serialization in Young Animal in 2022 and has five tankoubon volumes as of October 2024.
