The 11th Anime Trending Awards celebrated the most beloved female anime characters, crowning the best girls from 2024. In the highly competitive Girl of the Year category, Kana Arima from【OSHI NO KO】S2 emerged victorious. Meanwhile, Yuki Suou, the cute otaku younger sister of Masachika from Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, won the Supporting Girl of the Year Award, charming fans with her personality.
Winning Girl of the Year for the 11th Anime Trending Awards marks another notable achievement for Kana. She previously succeeded in winning not only Girl of the Year, but also Supporting Girl of the Year in the 10th Anime Trending Awards, thus solidifying her status as a fan favorite for two consecutive award seasons.
The Summer 2024 anime season was extremely competitive for the girls as【OSHI NO KO】S2 and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian both aired in the same time period. In the seasonal awards, Yuki Suou won Favorite Supporting Female Character while the Favorite Female Character went to Anna Yanami from Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! However, Anna placed 4th overall in the 11th Anime Trending Awards, just behind 2nd and 3rd place, which went to Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries and Frieren from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End respectively.
