AnimeJapan’s Manga We Want to See Animated 2025 ranking has been released. In first place is Kota Kawae‘s Nue’s Exorcist, followed by Makoto Yoshimoto‘s Utsotsuki! Gokuo-kun and Oreco Tachibana‘s Firefly Wedding in second and third.

Nue’s Exorcist started serialization in 2023 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Manga Plus describes the premise as:

Yajima has been able to see spirits since he was small. At his new school is a room that nobody else can see. And inside is a spirit who loves playing video games. A new modern exorcist saga now begins!

Utsotsuki! Gokuoo-kun ran from 2011 to 2021. The manga, which follows the titular “lie specialist,” started in Bessatsu Corocoro Comic but later moved to Monthly Corocoro Comic.

Firefly Wedding began in 2023 on Manga One and Ura Sunday. Comikey describes the premise as:

“The daughter of an upstanding family, and an assassin… A romantic suspense about the contract marriage between two who should never have crossed paths!”

It is currently the Meiji era. Blessed with both heritage and beauty, Satoko’s one wish is to marry for the good of the family. But suddenly, a mysterious assassin comes for her life?! In order to make it out of there alive, Satoko makes the assassin a “proposal”…
