On the production side, Yoshifumi Sueda (High School DxD HERO, Z/X Code reunion) is directing Cat’s Eye at LIDEN FILMS. Hayashi Mori (SAND LAND) is writing the script, while Yosuke Yabumoto (The Legendary Hero is Dead! character designer and co-chief animation director) is the character designer and chief animation director. The music composer is Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia).
Cat’s Eye is based on the manga by Tsukasa Hojo. The story follows three sisters who are art thieves that steal the works of their lost father. It ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1981 to 1984 and later received a special one-shot in 1985. Eighteen tankoubon volumes were originally published under the Jump Comics label.
The manga previously inspired two television anime seasons, a 1997 live-action film adaptation, and more. Cat’s Eye has received crossovers with other titles like City Hunter (the manga was also created by Hojo) and Lupin the 3rd.
