Bushiroad has released the opening animation of the upcoming The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Seika no Maboroshi to Yumemiru Tabiji visual novel. It also revealed a key visual, the game’s synopsis, and an October 2 JST launch date for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Additionally, the game’s website lists English support and a price of 5,280 yen (~US$35.03) for the standard edition. There’s also a 11,000 yen (~US$72.98) special edition.

The premise of the visual novel will see Elias and Chise being approached for aid by Sol, an individual with a petrification-like affliction who is neither human nor fae. Sol’s goal is to help his friend Letty, an amnesiac whom he met one night in London after hearing her call for help.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Seika no Maboroshi to Yumemiru Tabiji‘s opening animation features the song “Sagashimono” by reche. Its production credits include: 

• Storyboard artist and unit director: Aro Morita (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 ending animation 2)
• Color designer: Yuko Kobari (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2)
• Background art director: Seiki Tamura (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2)
• Compositing director: Mayo Suzuki (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2)
• Animation production: Studio Kafka

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Seika no Maboroshi to Yumemiru Tabiji was announced earlier this month as a Switch title.
