Kodansha and Kodansha USA have announced that it plans to publish an English edition of Magnolia: FAIRY TAIL Complete Illustrations — a large-format, hardcover Fairy Tail art book that compiles new illustrations from series creator Hiro Mashima. It will be the first art book in the series to receive an English release.

The full-color Magnolia: FAIRY TAIL Complete Illustrations art book includes 470 illustrations from the Fairy Tail manga’s 11-year, 63-volume publication run. It will feature new artwork featuring several fan-favorite characters such as Lucy, Natsu, Gray, Wendy, Erza, Juvia, Happy, and many more.

The artbook was first published in Japan on December 9, 2024 under the title Magnolia -Fairy Tail Illustrations 1+2+α-

Mashima ran Fairy Tail in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2, 2006 to July 26, 2017. The series was then followed up by the manga sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 years Quest, in July 2018. A prequel titled Fairy Tail: Zero in July 2024.

The manga inspired a long-running TV anime adaptation that aired from 2009 to 2019, OVAs, anime films, and video games.

Kodansha USA describes the main synopsis of the Fairy Tail manga as:

Cute girl wizard Lucy wants to join the FAIRY TAIL, a club for the most powerful wizards. But instead her ambitions land her in the clutches of a gang of unsavory pirates led by a devious magician. Her only hope is Natsu, a strange boy she happens to meet on her travels. Natsu’s not your typical hero—he gets motion sickness, eats like a pig, and his best friend is a talking cat. With friends like this, is Lucy better off with her enemies?
