CloverWorks has released an anime short film based on the webtoon 7FATES: CHAKHO (the anime’s story is described as being an original one).

The 11-minute animation, which stands out with its character acting, the dimensional impression of the character drawings, aesthetic, and cinematography, is directed by Wonder Egg Priority‘s Shin Wakabayashi. Wakabayashi also penned the script and co-storyboarded the short film.

The short stars Shoya Ishige as Zeha, Miyuri Shimabuku as Haru, Yuichi Nakamura as Jooan, Yuya Uchida as Hwan, Ryohei Kimura as Cein, and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Do-Geon.

The 7FATES: CHAKHO webtoon made its debut in 2022. It is one of several comics from South Korean entertainment company HYBE. This particular title was a collaboration with K-pop group BTS.

Webtoon describes the premise as:

In the corrupt city of Sin-si, Zeha suddenly wakes up in a hospital, unable to recall anything that happened after speaking with a mysterious man one night. He soon learns that strange beings called beom are wreaking havoc on the city. As destiny brings seven boys together, will they succeed in ending this fight, once and for all? Let the hunting begin!
