The official Twitter/X account for the ongoing Kowloon Generic Romance TV anime series announced that it has cast Yuriko Yamaguchi as “Kujirai-B,” who strongly resembles the series’ main heroine, Reiko Kujirai.

She joins a main voice cast that includes:
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Reiko Kujirai
- • Tomokazu Sugita as Hajime Kudou
- • Ryotaro Okiayu as Miyuki Hebinuma
- • Taito Ban as Tao Gwen
- • Aoi Koga as Yaomay
- • Sayumi Suzushiro as Xiaohei
- • Kengo Kawanishi as Yulong
Additionally, the anime’s creditless main ending sequence was also released, which is set to “Koi no Retronym” by Mekakushe.
Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers, The Familiar of Zero) is directing the anime series, with Jin Tanaka (OSHI NO KO [co-scriptwriter in Season 2]) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Yuka Shibata (Kimi ni Todoke – From Me To You [co-credit in Season 3], After the Rain) as character designer, and Yuji Kaneko (Tengoku-Daimakyo, Ranking of Kings) as background art director. ARVO ANIMATION is handling the animation production.
The anime adaptation is based on the manga series by Jun Mayuzuki, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump on November 7, 2019 and has released 10 tankobon volumes as of October 2024, with an 11th volume set for release on April 17, 2025. Yen Press releases the manga in English for North America.
A live-action film adaptation of the manga will also premiere later this coming August.

Crunchyroll is streaming Kowloon Generic Romance worldwide, outside of Japan, and describes the main synopsis as:
Real estate agents Reiko Kujirai and Hajime Kudo work in the nostalgic Kowloon Walled City. As they spend more time together, Reiko’s feelings for Hajime grow. But when she finds a photo of him and his former fiancée, she’s shocked to see the woman looks exactly like her. Reiko then realizes a chilling truth: she has no memory of her past.
