A special new one-shot for the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga — also labelled as Chapter 15.5 —has been released on Shonen Jump+.
The new content has Koichi, Pop Step, and Knuckle Duster encountering a girl who has need of advice before facing off against a Trigger user. Artist Betten Court and writer Hideyuki Furuhashi returned for the one-shot, which was made to commemorate the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes TV anime adaptation.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes ran from 2016 and concluded in 2022. It has been collected into 15 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the premise of the My Hero Academia spin-off as:
Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…
The anime started airing on April 7, 2025 JST. Crunchyroll, Netflix, Ani-One Asia ULTRA, and Bilibili are among the platforms streaming it overseas.
