Crunchyroll to Stream Left-hand Layup! Basketball Donghua Animated Series Starting April 23 featured image

Crunchyroll has announced that it will begin streaming the Chinese basketball animated series Left-hand Layup! on April 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM PST. The series original Chinese title is Zuoshou Shanglan

Parts 1 and 2 of the donghua series will be available to stream in the following countries and territories: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and Indian subcontinent. 

China-based studio HEART&SOUL was in charge of the animation production for Left-hand Layup! Tencent Penguin Pictures are credited as the series’ producers. 

The first part of the series premiered on Tencent video in China from February 2, 2023 to March 16, 2023 for eight episodes. The second part premiered with nine episodes from December 20, 2024 to January 31, 2025.

Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis of Left-hand Layup! as: 

Xu Xing Ze is an impassioned basketball phenom hoping to become the best there ever was. His dreams of playing on the championship team are dashed when his sister accidentally enrolls him in a lower-ranked school with a similar-sounding name. Now, it’s up to Xu and his ragtag group of friends to prove themselves on the court against some of the top teams and players in the region.
