Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc topped the Japanese weekend box office ranking for the third week running, with Kogyo Tsushin reporting a moviegoer count of 577,000 and a gross of 897 million yen (~US$5.96 million) for the October 3 JST to October 5 JST weekend.

Its total domestic gross so far (the anime movie sequel premiered in Japan on September 19 JST) is calculated to be 4.3 billion yen (~US28.59 million). Overseas, Box Office Mojo reports a worldwide gross of US$44.4 million. The movie has yet to open in North America, where it’s set for an October 24 release date.

As before, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle took second place on the Japanese weekend box office chart. Its weekend moviegoer count and gross were, respectively, 272,000 and 432 million yen. The total domestic gross now stands at over 35.7 billion yen (~US237.3 million), while the total worldwide gross is calculated to be ~US$633 million, making it the sixth top-grossing movie of 2025 according to Box Office Mojo.

The other anime films in the Japanese weekend box office ranking’s top 10 were Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure ♪Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakki Live! at 9th and 100 METERS at 10th. These two premiered on September 12 JST and September 19 JST.
