There’s less than a month before Eiga Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Dokokai Kanketsu-hen Dainisho (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale – Chapter 2) premieres in Japan on November 7 JST. As the conclusive movie trilogy’s midquel gets closer to its release date, new previews in the form of a release commemoration trailer and a clip previewing the first five minutes have been released.

The trailer teases the film’s various idol performance sequences, while also containing various emotional lines that emphasize the bonds between the Nijigasaki idol club’s members. And speaking of performances, the five-minute preview contains a part of the fang-bearing Shioriko Mifune’s musical scene, which features a Japanese motif and some gorgeous shots that have convinced me to catch the movie on the big screen if the opportunity exists.

In last year’s Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club The Movie – Finale – Chapter 1, the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club received an invite to participate in the School Idol Grand Prix, which involved live-streamed performances. The new movie will focus on the Setsuna, Ai, Rina, Mia, Karin, and Shioriko part of the cast and have Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe as its main locations. Mia’s older sister Chloe is set to appear and contribute to the drama.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is one of the titles in the Love Live! multimedia franchise and has a focus on solo performances. The movie trilogy is the follow-up to two TV seasons (2020 and 2022) and an OVA (2023). Chapter 1 had Bocchi the Rock! character designer Kerorira involved as visual director.

The starting Nijigasaki cast was announced in 2017 as part of the now-defunct Love Live! School Idol Festival game’s PERFECT Dream Project anniversary project. The original voice actor of the character Setsuna Yuki, Tomori Kusunoki, departed from the role on March 31, 2023 JST due to medical reasons.
