BL manga author Tokico Kirishiki‘s crime-themed Hana no Akuta manga is getting a remake titled Hana no Akuta -Re;bloom- in spring 2026, and the announcement also saw the release of a slick animated trailer with eye-catching animation and visuals (and some NSFW cuts).
The anime trailer was produced by the animation circle LuneSoupe, which was previously involved in the opening song sequence of Nukitashi The Animation and a trailer (also NSFW) commemorating the conclusion of the female-oriented adult doujinshi Isekai Trip Saki de Tasukete kureta no wa Hitogoroshi no Shonen deshita.
The previous version of Hana no Akuta was published in December 2018 by Charles Comics. The story follows Tsubaki (voiced in the trailer by Girigi Lee), a high-ranking member of a crime family who’s actually an undercover cop, and the family head Kajiro (Mikado Sumeragi), who is aware of Tsubaki’s true identity but also considers the cop to be someone who greatly understands him. According to the synopsis, Tsubaki has extraordinary instincts and a rage which Kajiro accepts, and Kajiro also allows Tsubaki to deal with his violent urges through sex. On the other hand, Kajiro is an enigma to Tsubaki, a fact that starts to bother the latter.
An adult doujin version was announced in November 2024 for release between 2025 to the first half of 2026.
