A main trailer for the original anime Goodbye, Lara has surfaced, heading under and above the sea to preview the titular love-seeking mermaid’s past and present.

Also revealed were the show’s July broadcast premiere window and two additional characters: the Rika Fukami-voiced witch Grace and Ayumu Murase‘s Luca, a human who resembles the prince Lara fell for in the past. Grace and Luca can be seen in the trailer, and also received character visuals.

Goodbye, Lara will see Lara surfacing in Shiga Prefecture’s Lake Biwa and becoming housemates with teenage boxer Mari. 200 years prior, Lara consumed a potion provided by Grace in order to become human, only to experience the side effect of turning into bubbles if she doesn’t find true love.

It also marks series directorial debut of Takushi Koide (assistant director, revue costume designer, weapon designer, and more on Revue Starlight and its movie sequel.), who hails from Shiga Prefecture.
