The Pokémon franchise has announced a new Pokémon game for the main series: Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. The announcement was made during today’s Pokémon Presents, where we got a first look at what the game will have, including three new starter Pokémon.
The game will release worldwide, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
The new starter Pokémon for the new generation are: Browt, a grass-type Pokémon; Pombon, a fire-type Pokémon; and Gecqua, a water-type Pokémon.

Furthermore, the official Pokémon Bureau has revealed the two protagonists and two different types of Pikachu for the game. The two protagonists will have two different versions of outfits depending on the game you play.



The two different forms of Pikachu are Mr. Windy Pikachu and Ms. Wavy Pikachu.


The video has also announced news from other games, such as Pokémon Champions and Pokémon PokéPia, among others. The franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Pokémon Presents is the official announcement from the Pokémon Company for the Pokémon franchise. It happens annually on Pokémon Day, February 27th, where it covers news on current games, anime, and TCG cards, and announces any new games that are in development.
Pokémon Day is a day observed by fans around the world in celebration of Pokémon since its first game, Pokémon Red and Green, was released in Japan in 1996.
Since the games’ first release, Pokémon has grown into a multimedia franchise that includes games, TCG, anime series, films, and manga. The franchise has 123 known games, including the recent Pokémon Legends: Z-A and two anime series, including the current running series, Pokémon Horizons.
