khara has publicly released the Evangelion anime short that was previously screened at February’s EVANGELION:30+ ; anniversary event. The almost 15-minute Asuka-focused animation can be found on its YouTube channel.

The short hit 47,745 views within 21 minutes of going live.

The move comes after a period of leaks, which was then exacerbated by khara’s attempt to shut down the spread. In khara’s words:

During the process of submitting takedown requests to X, information included in our report to demonstrate ownership of the video’s copyright was disclosed to the account that had posted the unauthorized recording due to the platform’s reporting system. As a result, official data that should never have been provided outside the company became temporarily accessible from external sources. The individual who had uploaded the illegally recorded footage downloaded the data and subsequently spread the official footage across social media platforms, including X, in the early morning of Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Controversial anime YouTuber Chibi Reviews shared on X/Twitter that a takedown notice they received contained the full Asuka short, noting that it was “actually ‘high-quality’ footage, like the best it can be.”

khara’s full statement regarding the leaks can be found here.
