The dramatis personae of the upcoming Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc have been previewed in a new, pre-animated teaser trailer. The show’s director Tatsuya Yoshihara storyboarded the teaser and co-unit directed it with Daisuke Inoue.
The MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Reveal also saw the announcement of a Chainsaw Man mobile game and the reveal of its opening movie, which was storyboarded and unit directed by Nowoka (ZUTOMAYO “Pain Give Form” music video director et al.).
Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc was announced in December as the follow-up to 2022’s Chainsaw Man TV anime and 2025’s Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc. The Chainsaw Man anime are based on the Shueisha-published supernatural action manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Viz Media describes the manga as such:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
The first part of the manga was serialized from 2018 to 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The current second part launched on the Shonen Jump+ app and website in July 2022 and ended in March 2026.
