(a)me/rit(é), an independent short anime that features live-action environments for its backgrounds, has landed on YouTube with subtitles in multiple languages (including English).
Originally announced in 2024 under the working title Shiranami, the short sees a regular girl, Aya Kuronjo, encountering the mysterious Tanita Shintani. Tanita is a slayer of dangerous supernatural entities, and Aya gets caught in a battle against one such creature.
Killer Sentakuki (Killer Washing Machine) directed (a)me/rit(é), which seems to be set in Yamagata, with animation by Resu Neko. Studio Sample is credited for the production.
(a)me/rit(é) ends with a teaser for an upcoming sequel, titled “Hikari,” featuring a new character staring intently at a cross-shaped entity embedded in the ocean.
