The Fate/Grand Order YouTube channel has released the opening theater animation for the game’s ongoing Hoshi no Mi no Kairo exhibition, which debuted at Tokyo’s Mori Arts Center Gallery on July 19 and runs until September 14.
Haruka Fujita (Violet Evergarden series episode director, Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll director, Tengoku-Daimakyo Episode 8 storyboard artist) storyboarded, unit directed, and directed the CloverWorks production. Among the other production credits are:
• Color designer: Kyoko Hara
• Background art director: Ryoko Itaya (Honey Lemon Soda)
• Compositing director: Yuya Sakuma (7FATES: CHAKHO short film, Bocchi the Rock! live lighting director)
• Animation producer: Yuichi Fukushima (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform and Your Lie in April, CloverWorks vice president)
Fate/Grand Order was first launched on July 30, 2015 in Japan, with a United States release following in 2017. The Lasengle-developed free-to-play mobile RPG and gacha game is part of the Fate franchise and features a large roster of Servants, who can be commanded in turn-based battles. The successful title was reported in 2023 to have achieved over US$7 billion in worldwide revenue, and has inspired other media like manga, light novels, and anime.
The story of Fate/Grand Order initially followed the protagonist and the Chaldea Security Organization attempts to, per the TYPE-MOON wiki, “restore the Common Sense of Man by way of excising the Holy Grails sustaining the chronological Singularities that disrupt the continuity of human history and contribute to the Human Order Incineration Protocol.” June 3, 2026 saw the launch of “one second after time,” the game’s new, post-Part 2 story chapter.
