The upcoming second season of Blue Box, which begins airing on October 4, has received a main trailer and main visual. The former focuses on Chinatsu’s connection with her estranged former teammate Yumeka Kido, before switching to Chinatsu and Taiki’s relationship towards the end.
The trailer also previews the show’s newly announced theme songs. The opening song is “Anata no Hana no Iro” by aiko, while the ending is “blue in” by Elsewhere Kikou.
Blue Box is an adaptation of the sports-flavored teen romance manga by Koji Miura, who originally drew the story as a one-shot. Viz Media describes the manga’s synopsis as such:
Taiki admires Chinatsu from afar, but he doubts that she sees him in the same way. Yet somehow, he musters up the courage to tell her to never give up on her dreams! After such a bold declaration, will Taiki’s fleeting high school romance finally begin?
The Blue Box manga began serialization in 2021 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and has 26 volumes as of July 2026. The anime’s first season, which was directed by Yuichiro Yano (Lupin the 3rd Part 5) at Telecom Animation Film, began airing in October 2024 and ran for two cours. Season 2 is directed by Daisuke Sako (Lupin Zero) at Electric Circus, which was founded by TMS Animation ex-president Yu Kiyozono in 2024.
