Following the announcement of a Goodbye, Lara light novel adaptation last month, it has now been revealed that a manga adaptation is also on its way. The manga version of Lara’s quest for true love is drawn by Saburouta of Citrus fame and will begin serialization on Kadocomi sometime in October, the same month as the novelization’s release.

Goodbye, Lara began airing on July 5 at 24:30 JST (effectively July 6 at 00:30) and will run for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll describes the show as such:
Once upon a time, a mermaid princess named Lara fell in love with a human prince. To be with him, she used a witch’s potion to become human—but the magic came at a cost: If she failed to find true love, she would vanish into sea foam forever. Now, 200 years later, Lara awakens in Lake Biwa with one final chance at life and love.
Goodbye, Lara is the series director debut of Revue Starlight assistant director Takushi Koide and the 15th anniversary project of animation production studio Kinema Citrus. It features character designs by Shiori Tani (Revue Starlight prop designer, Revue Starlight the Movie co-main animator and animation director et al.) and series composition by Anna Kawahara (Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo live-action series co-writer).
The cast includes Hana Hishikawa as Lara and Nana Kawaishi as Mari Otsu.
