A preview video and March 26, 2027 theatrical premiere date for Date A Live F Last Date have been revealed as part of the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2026 Online event.
A new teaser visual was also unveiled.
The anime is the latest installment in the Date A Live animated series that adapts the KADOKAWA-published light novel series written by Koshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako. Yen Press describes the first volume as such:
April 10. The first day of school. Shido Itsuka is rudely awoken by his personal alarm clock—his little sister. It’s shaping up to be another typical day…well, as typical as it gets on a planet plagued by massive spatial quakes. Little does Shido know, however, his life is about to take a sudden turn when he encounters the source of this destructive phenomenon—a girl his age, apparently known as a Spirit. Turns out, there are only two ways he can stop her from unleashing hell on the world: Eliminate her by force or placate her…by taking her out on a date and making her fall in love with him!
The first Date A Live TV anime season debuted in 2013, and was followed by four seasons that began airing in 2014, 2019, 2022, and 2024. The first three were directed by Keitaro Motonaga at AIC PLUS+ (Season 1), Production IMS (Season 2), and J.C.STAFF (Season 3), while the fourth and fifth were directed by Jun Nakagawa at GEEKTOYS.
Aside from the TV series, there is a 2015 anime movie and a two-part 2020 OVA adaptation of the Date A Bullet spin-off.
As of 2022, the Date A Live light novel series, which is published under the Fantasia Bunko imprint, has 22 main volumes and 11 anthologies. The print media side of the franchise also has spin-offs and manga.
Update: Replaced the X/Twitter link for the teaser trailer with a YouTube upload.
