In a surprising turn of events, 'The Tunnel to Summer, The Exit of Goodbyes' scored a huge upset win over Suzume, a film directed by Makoto Shinkai (director of Your Name), for the Anime Movie of the Year Title in the 10th Anime Trending Awards! This is the first-ever Anime Movie of the Year loss (after three films) of a Shinkai film, and the second directorial win for Tomohisa Taguchi (who won Anime of the Year with Akudama Drive in 2020)
