Sword Art Online wins Anime Movie of the Year 2022, finally scoring its first major annual award at Anime Trending
After previously being nominated for Anime of the Year four times, with the closest it got to claiming it back in 2019, Sword Art Online has finally won a major annual award at Anime Trending by winning Anime Movie of the Year 2022. It defeated 9 other nominees for the title, included shonen megahit Jujutsu Kaisen, which the former overwhelmingly won by almost two thousand votes
