The YouTube channel for Fukushima Prefecture has released a promotional anime directed by Look Back and Flip Flappers‘ Kiyotaka Oshiyama.
The tender short animation, titled Aka no Kioku, follows an artist and depicts various moments of her life. It is part of the Fukushima Map Tomo no Kai project, which seeks to promote the charm of Fukushima to more people. Fukushima Map is a general interest magazine centered on the prefecture.
Aside from directing, Oshiyama, who is a Fukushima native, also handled the script, character designs, animation, and background art for the promotional short. The animation production studio is his Studio Durian.
Recently, it was announced that Oshiyama would be the character designer for the upcoming Trigun Stargaze, after previously being involved with the preceding Trigun Stampede series as special effects designer for Trigun Stampede.
On the subject of Oshiyama shorts, the SHISHIGARI short film, which received a trailer in 2019, remains unreleased.
